Darkness. You can't see anything around you and you feel as if you are paralyzed, your arms pressed flat to the sides of your body and your legs equally incapacitated. Voices murmur around you, soft whispers of sobs and mourning, familiar and yet so very far away. Your mother's voice suddenly becomes clear in the din, wavering ever-so-slightly, as she speaks your name, not to you, but in remembrance of you. As she questions why this happened - your fate suddenly becomes clear. Life as it was once known is over and you are in the land of the dead. Unable to sob, unable to scream, unable to think any longer, you long for a second chance to make things right and to live your life fully. Slowly, the voices around you fade entirely and nothing moves.
Harsh sunlight pierces your eyelids, warming your body in a way that is almost sinful. As you open your eyes on a new day, it becomes apparent that this is a world almost entirely unlike your own. Frightened, confused, and a bit awestruck, you wonder for a moment if your final wish has been granted. It has. Congratulations, you are one of the lucky.
You have a second chance at life.
Second Chances isn't heaven, but another world entirely. No one is certain what exactly this place is - perhaps a separate dimension, perhaps a crazed dream - but it truly exists for those who had more in life to live for. There are unusual characteristics of this place compared to most other worlds.
There is a collection of different types of creatures, humans, vampires, werewolves, and many, many more residing together within this place. Sometimes the misfits get along, but then again, most times they don't. Things that were only dreamed to exist , exist here in perfect harmony with the strange surroundings.
Three enormous cities dominate the explored parts of the planet, the first: Genil, the second: Anarab, and the third: Nureese. Genil is currently the only city with any form of civilized government established, a group of 12 Elders, the first twelve people to arrive in this place after dying in their own worlds. Nureese is ruled by a entity known only as "Him," a man with the ability to possess those of his followers who he wants to speak through, ultimately resulting in the possessee's death. Anarab is run by a mob-metality group known as The Collection, held in the grip of a strange woman. What does she hold over them?
The other two cities have been devoured by evil and greed and ooze their poison into each person that inhabits them, however, they envy the strength of Genil's power as well as its hidden riches. It is rumored that the secret of this world is hidden somewhere within the walls of the Elder's castle. Communication between the two dark cities and the white city is limited, if not forbidden by the government of Genil. Rules were made to be broken, however, and walls were made to be destroyed.
Outside of the skirts of the cities, thousands of miles of unexplored lands exist, perhaps even other continents. The boundaries of this world are so distant that they are not yet known. So much more could exist beyond the horizon line and it is all for the taking - if you are courageous enough to take it.
Will you accept this second chance and live life to its full potential? Or will the gift be wasted...?
